  • NZ is a diverse country, hosting everything from rainforests and glaciers to sandy beaches and magnificent mountain ranges. NZ has a large number of immigrants and people from all ethnic backgrounds living together. The country is known for its tolerance of different religions and managing to sustain a harmony with the Maori people.
  • Public education from the elementary level up to the secondary level is free of charge to all students in NZ.
  • University tuition fees are affordable for citizens and residents with fees ranging from NZ$ 6,000 to NZ$ 10,000 as compared to international students who will be expected to pay annually for tuition NZ$ 14,000 up to NZ$ 26,000. It is therefore more advantageous to be a resident or citizen of NZ.
  • The NZ economy is modern and developed and is heavily involved in trade. The average annual income in NZ is anywhere between NZ$ 28,000 to NZ$ 40,000 or perhaps more depending on the job.
  • The cost of living in NZ too is quite reasonable, but will vary depending on which area and/or island of NZ you will settle in. In the north island, in cities like Auckland and Wellington, a 3 bedroom house will rent from NZ$ 1,200 to NZ $ 1,400 per month. In the southern island, rent for a 3 bedroom house/apartment in cities like Christchurch and Dunedin is around NZ$ 920 to NZ$ 1,200 per month.
  • New Zealand's health care system is funded primarily by the government. All NZ residents are entitled to free or subsidized health services, including treatment in public hospitals, doctor visits and medication. Private clinics/hospitals are another option for patients willing to pay for medical services.
  • Once you have settled in NZ, you may be able to sponsor your relatives. Also if you have relatives in NZ, they can sponsor you.
